Power & MotorYacht Perhaps this isn’t the best way to describe the company founded by Tom Godart and Craig Gemmill, but the common thread it shares with the corporation that specializes in one-stop shopping is, well, specializing in one-stop shopping. Nuts and Boats Dockside Marine Service aims to give boat owners and operators a full range of service options, which means no more to-and-fro calling to get all of your boating demands met. |

Cleaning a Boat
"Desperate times call for desperate measures. Because we couldn’t wash the boats, we used all-purpose cleaner/degreaser—but it is essentially soap, and it leaves a film unless it’s rinsed. Panic set in once again. I needed a miracle.
After much trial and error, I discovered that a mixture of two parts water and one part vinegar did the trick. I don’t recommend this for routine maintenance, but I can tell you that when the show opened, those ten boats were sparkling even brighter than the eyes of my crewmembers, who knew the work was finally done." |

Students Learn the Nuts & Bolts of Boat Cleaning
"After learning that South Florida's marine industry is in need of better skilled labor, Tom Godart came up with an idea to generate interest amongst teens searching for future careers. Using a combination of mentoring and old-fashioned elbow grease, Godart devised a plan that allows students from the marine magnet program at South Broward High School in Hollywood to receive hands-on training in detailing boats. Now, six students scrub, soap and shine three vessels docked in the marina at the International Game Fish Association Fishing Hall of Fame and Museum in Dania Beach." |

Entrepreneur Gets Down to Nuts & Boats
"Tom Godart thinks he has figured out the nuts and boats about how to provide dockside marine services.
He is taking the mom-and-pop business of taking care of boats and trying to turn it into a large business offering everything from soup to nuts - cleaning, washing, waxing, provisioning, maintaining and repairing boats - so all owners have to do is jump aboard and sail away."
